Chapter 76: Pierce sacks Reeder
Reeder decides to throw out the results of the March election and, after threats to his own safety, heads to DC in early July to explain his action to President Pierce. After a delay, Pierce orders Reeder to resign, effective August 15.
His departure represents the first of six turn-overs in the territory between 1854 and the start of the Civil War.
