Chapter 130: The Confederate States of America are founded on February 11, 1861.
A total of six other states have seceded since South Carolina on December 20, 1860.

A total of 37 delegates from all seven states appear in Montgomery, Alabama on February 4, 1861 to organize their plans. They regard their task as akin to the Founding Fathers casting their Declaration of Independence. Acting as President is Howell Cobb. By the sixth day they pass a Constitution and settle on their name, The Confederate States of America.
Jefferson Davis lobbies to be Secretary of War but instead is elected President to serve one six year term. His VP will be Alexander Stephens with Toombs as Secretary of State.
On March 11, 1861 the new nation becomes official.
