Section #1 - Three Days At Gettysburg
Chapter 15: Day One: 10:00–10:30 AM
Around 10:00 AM, Reynolds arrives back at the field to find Buford’s men barely holding on. With him comes his three Divisions, including General James Wadsworth’s veterans, nicknamed the Iron Brigade for their prior valor.
But just after a mounted Reynolds directs them to take positions along McPherson’s Ridge, north and south of the Chambersburg Pike, he is struck and killed by a minie ball which catches him behind his right ear.
He will be the highest ranking officer on either side to die at Gettysburg.
