Roger Tichborne duplicate

Benjamin Tichborne is knighted by Queen Elizabeth and made a Baron in 1621 for services rendered to King James I. In 1827 James Tichborne, who will become the 10th Baronet in 1853, marries Henrietta Seymour. She gives birth in 1829 to a son, Roger Doughty Tichborne, whose disappearance in 1853 after a boat wreck off the coast of Brazil. Her 12 year search for him ends in 1865 when a man living in Australia claims to be her son. Despite Henrietta’s assurances of his legitimacy, a series on trials in England find that he is actually one Arthur Orton, son of a local butcher, who fled the law to Australia around 1857. In turn Orton serves a ten year jail sentence for perjury and the mystery of Roger Tichborn’s disappearance remains unsolved.
